Thoughts and Body Image
Hi all!
Well, I guess it’s time to drag out our winter cozy clothes. (deep sigh) Trying on clothes for the first time in a year can bring up some triggering behaviors. I’m hoping to provide you with a little support on so you can navigate this change in season with a little more compassion and awareness. I encourage you to have grace while you try on your winter clothes. A lot has happened in a year.
Not feeling so great after wiggling into last years jeans? Are you tempted to skip lunch or snack because of how you feel?
The way we think about our body may impact how we choose to nourish our body.
So, how can you challenge the negative thoughts about yourself if the winter clothes don’t fit the same?
Well, AWARENESS is key. My challenge for you is to notice when you’re having negative thoughts about your body. Acknowledge them by saying something like, "there is that thought again". Then, challenge the TRUTH of the thought. After all, thoughts are not truths.
Let's start to challenge those thoughts and re-write your story around food and body image.
Below is a handout on how our thoughts affect how we feel. Not rocket science, I know
Bodies are suppose to change BTW:)
